Is this the whole truth and nothing but the the truth so help me ....... If no one answers what time of the day are you calling? Most decent companies would at least have some kind of answering service, it just seems strange how they won't respond. there could be a very logical valid reason for this happening or not just be patient although you've stated it has happened on more than one occasion so it might be time to find a new broker. Yes so it will be interesting to see if anyone else has had the same issues.

I did two loads for KOF. One from CA to FL, they had 45 day to pay terms on this load i got tempted because of the rate. Eventually after numerous calls they paid in more than two months. But did not reimburse me the lumper fee. And i made a mistake to do another load for them in about two weeks of finishing the first one. Usually i don’t do it with new brokers. So, the second was from CO to NYC WITH 30 days payment terms. We agreed on the rate in the morning and they did not send me a rate confirmation till late afternoon for next day loading. Checked in, went to my truck. In about 30 min i got a call from the shipping office asking who is my broker, I told them KOF and here I smelled something is not right. So, loaded, delivered no problem. Came time for payment didn’t received it in 30 days so, waited another week, nothing. Called them got a promise, on Friday. Friday came, nothing. Called them, again promise. And then stopped picking up the phone. So, i had to open claim through a Load Board to get some attention. And it worked. Finally they mailed me a check after more then two months. So no more work with KOF. And i tell this to all my friends.

I know this is an old thread, but I am currently having the same slow payment experience. I’m a couple days away from two months since I delivered a load for them and still no payment, I also made the mistake of hauling another for them not long after… 2 invoices currently unpaid, first one is about 2 months old.

I had done one load for them a while back and had no issue collecting on the first. I did the second load months later, that’s the one I’m coming up on the two month mark this week, the third load I did right as the second load invoice was about due and before I knew there was going to be a problem. I’m a pro member on DAT and Truckstop, both showed broker credit ratings of around 95 for King of Freight. This is the first time I’ve had a broker take anywhere close to this long to pay. I’ve never had to try to collect and didn’t know what my recourse was. I ended up on this thread during the course of searching what I could find on king of freight and how to collect unpaid invoices. After reading the experience serezhka87 had and how he eventually collected I posted my reply on here and looked up how to claim against a broker for non-payment through the load boards. After learning up on that I called king of freight and told them that if payment wasn’t in my hand by Tuesday I’d be filing claims against them for non-payment through the load boards and that if they wanted to avoid that they needed to have a check in the mail by that afternoon. Within one hour the payment status was updated with a check number and said it had been mailed out. I mainly posted on here to add my experience to the ones above so that people trying to find out about these guys could have an idea of what they might encounter if they choose to work with them. King of freight is now blocked for me, I won’t be working with them again.

So I did few loads for them. Always got paid. What I noticed is that it’s beneficial to “load the POD and invoice” to their portal and immediately email it to paperwork@kingoffreight.com requesting confirmation. I’ve always been paid after I got an attention of actual accounting team person with this. First 2 loads it was a struggle like you guys are describing. Their documents upload system just doesn’t work intentionally or not, but you can still send it the old way, using some excuse like “just to make sure”. Worked for me.

They still got that online portal you enter the load number in so you can watch them still not have a check cut at 60 days from receipt of all paperwork?
