I have to travel halfway across the country on I-40 in a day cab with a flatbed. I am trying to do some trip planning and need to find motels to stay each night. Any tips on finding places that have parking?

Google maps satellite view will end up being your best friend. When you know what area you will want to land in for the evening search hotels in that town/city then start looking them up on Google maps to see parking lot set ups. You can call also but always try to verify by looking, a lot of hotels will say they have truck parking, and they do, but it's only for something as big as a U-Haul.

Are you required to pay with a company issued card? That card may have an app to go with it. I have to use CLC, which has a pretty decent app to use to find hotels in any area you want, but once again, it isn't foolproof, gotta look at it on maps.

Estimate how many miles that you plan to drive each day. Pull up google maps, try different city's or towns from you starting point until you get the approximate miles you are going to travel. Google motels in that area and read the reviews. If they don't mention truck parking give them a call.

Which half of the country? From where to where? My experience is the western half is more accommodating.

It’s really the luck of the draw.

I know the Ramada in Holbrook Arizona off of the 40 has truck parking. I downloaded copilot GPS maps a couple years ago and have been using it ever since. It is my favorite because as I drive I can mark down areas on the map and save them for future use. However, the most obvious answer would be to call hotels though , you’d be surprised , where you could maneuver through and spaces you could tuck your truck into. Good luck.

I spent two months at that hotel back in 2011 working in that area. What a crap hole of a town. I don't think I was ever so happy to leave a place.
