Has anyone failed an inspection when they were trying to transfer an out of state title? I was just wondering how thoroughly they inspect. I'm in Nebraska. I'm worried if I can't get plates I'll be stuck with a parts truck I overpaid for.

I will pull it up on rig dig to make sure it isn't stolen.

Also, has anyone got plates from South Dakota even though they don't live there?
I know for cars they are letting non residents and even people in Mexico mail order plates with no inspection required.

I don’t know how they do things in Nebraska, but I would guess if it fails you make the needed repairs and get it re-inspected.

Is it a full inspection or just a vin number check?

I could be wrong but I dont think that vin inspection applies to commercial vehicles, the douglas County inspection station is just off 78th and dodge and its tight to even get a pick up there, also never heard of my friends getting theyre cmv inspected .
What brought this whole inspection thing on was that in the late 70s and early 80s Nebraska became a dumping ground for stolen cars because they didn't ask alot of ?s

I would imagine, that you'll find out all about the inspections at the Weigh Stations that are Always Open.If you don't avoid I-80,34 and 2hwy going to Lincoln on your way into town.Jmo

If the truck is safe to be on the road you should have nothing to worry about.
