Just perusing through this thread and noticed the many comments about how TA's are stuck in the past. I watch many urban exploration YT vids and have been noticing some forays into what look like some long abandoned TAs. Most notable was one from Carpetbaggers channel. Looked to be some where in the Carolinas(where the 'tuber is based). Probably abandoned in the early 2000s what with those "DAT" load boards still visible. I'll see if can link it if I can find it again. He pumps videos out by the day.

The Petro in Amarillo has the Skillet open with limited seating/menu.

    Excellent waitress.

It's kind of strange there's more selections at the fuel island than the restaurant now.

Even more strange, the buffet will spread germs, but the roller dog cases do not.

If masks bother you, write something offensive on it.

    Then watch them squirm.

I just can't believe how many don't question wearing a mask. Most have it on before entering a building. I wish people would wise up and question all this mask bs.

I'm one of those people that have it on before entering any public place. Of course I also believe in distancing and was already keeping to myself/extremely introverted long before the pandemic started. Not really going to get into a fire/fistfight trying to confront somebody over a mask issue. I'm usually in and out of any given place before some randomite stranger even cares or notices.

Personally, I'd rather keep my ugly face hidden. I get a little creeped out/angered when it's other dudes telling me, another dude, to smile more. Okay, uncomfortable and not your problem, sport. If you don't want to wear one, okay then. Some of us just like wearing them because of the veil of anonymity they offer. And blocking out allergens.

I'm sure most Americans do not like being told to do something that they are not comfortable with including wearing a face mask. My wife and I fall into a category of seniors, I'm 71 and she's 64, and we both have some medical issues that are concerning and require some care in exposure to Covid.

I drove for 45 years before retiring and currently enjoy Rving across this great country and frequently will stop in various truck stops for fuel, food and rest. As soon as we leave our pick-up we put the mask on either to fuel or go inside for food or whatever. It is a precaution that doesn't hurt, isn't uncomfortable and it is only temporary until we get back in the pick-up.

Instead of complaining about it why not try and consider someone other than yourself when it comes to the precautions suggested by health officials? A face mask, using hand sanitizer and washing your hands doesn't hurt and is good for you. Consider before Covid happened how many times you saw someone leave the rest room without washing their hands and head straight to the buffet table. About the same type of consideration should be given to others as well as yourselves.

Covid will be under control soon enough and maybe we can get back to some form of normalcy. Then we won't have to be so paranoid about a face mask or not. Just my opinion.

It's a scary sight when you get to a truck stop in the middle of the day and it's packed. Kind of like that J in Aurora off Airport a few weeks ago on a Monday.
