    I did end up speaking with Brian. Seems like a straight shooter what he knew he told me what he didn’t specifically about that regional job he admitted he didn’t. My top 3 choices right now are Britton, Magnum, and S&S. Glad I’m reaching out early so I have time to think about the pros and cons of each. Only thing was seems kind of odd training is in Alabama but I’m sure it just works better logistically. Just personally would prefer training on routes I’d be running. However that’s not really a negative in the big picture .

    They just started training in Anniston. I live 15 miles from the Anniston yard. It is kind of weird training in Anniston if you re planning on Midwest regional. But, they do have some weird ways about them at times.

    As far as Magnum vs Britton vs S&S;

    Trucks: S&S Kenworths and Cascadias 67mph. Cascadias can do 70mph for an hour a day. In and out of Canada frequently

    Britton: Cascadias and Volvos 65 mph. In and out of Canada as well since they re owned by Bison Transport

    Magnum: Peterbilts and Cascadias 64 mph. Not sure if they go in to Canada, but they are in Grand Forks alot and have delivered to our yard a few times

    With experience, I think S&S regional is .48/mi and pay raise every 126,000 miles

    #### yeah man all seem good. Magnum doesn’t do Canada but Grand Forks living would be easy as hell to go see her. I need to find out more on rules about if I’m able to stay in Canada at all though to know how much of a disadvantage that is. Britton says 14 on 2 off but people have said it’s flexible if you hit your miles. Seen many people who worked Magnum say they’d do 3-4 weeks and take 5-7 off which would be nice only being 2.5 hours away to have that extended period even if gone more. Talking to Britton tomorrow see if they have anything like that if you stay out that long vs the 14 days. S&S is regional so home weekends but Brain was fair saying it’s not always going to be two full days. Which is completely understandable and respect him not feeding me bs to make it sound more enticing. I also like the idea of flatbed especially they way they do it but that’s out of Souix Falls so I’d need to ask if those still go cross border and/or if I could live in Grand Forks. Longer term plan is to live in Grand Forks and get married and she will move over here.

    edit: I forgot you said you guys run some flatbeds as well.

    No matter the decision I make I firmly believe I’ve got 3 better options than the people falling for the recruiters coming by the school. I mean hey some like working for those megas but definitely not for me. I know Magnum doesn’t guessing no driver facing cars with you guys either? I forgot to ask Brian.

    Mine has a piece of tape over the driver facing camera that they put on. With students, they temporarily have driver facing camera, to basically make sure that you re not doing anything that you re not supposed to during training. Once you finish training, and demonstrated that you re responsible, they will tape over the driver facing camera, and leave you alone as long as you re not doing anything stupid.

    The biggest things they monitor with the camera is coming to a complete stop, following distance, and obeying speed limits. If you can obey those, they leave you alone

    Ok, that’s fair. I don’t like the idea of them it’s like having a camera inside your apartment, but that’s at least an understandable/fair way to use them. Showing you’re not going to eff up their equipment is a reasonable ask.

    You must communicate with current drivers at any company before working there if you want mostly accurate info. No amount of online anything will give you enough info otherwise. You can accidentally stumble into a good job, but online info is very close to useless info. Recruiter info is even closer to useless. The longer their drivers have been at the company the better the company. Big name trucking companies can barely keep any drivers 1 full year.

    I've near Steinbach. O doubt you would get a returning load that took you here. Be aware that other than being in your truck you cannot cross into Canada. She cannot cross into the USA
    . I could say hi to her for you!!!!
