Hello,
I have recently purchased a truck and am in the process of starting my own authority. I really would love a mentor who also has their own fleet and can help me learn the trucking business. I feel slightly overwhelmed and want to make sure I am doing everything right. I am very motivated to learn and get my truck on the road. I am based in NC but would love to talk via zoom, facetime, text ect. Just to add in, I do not plan to be an O/O, I would eventually like to have a few trucks. I am aware of the costs and the struggles and am still highly interested.

Just sell it before you help drive rates down and loose everything trying.
Now if you want to learn the business, once sold, get your cdl and work for a company for a couple years then try again.firemedic2816, Socal Xpress and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
Hi Katelyn, first mentoring lesson.....If you buy a truck and want to run it, then you are an O/O. You mentioned you did not want to be an O/O ! At any rate if you lease on to a company and they take a cut of the rate, in the beginning it will help because they do a lot of the paperwork and find loads etc. A lone wolf (an O/O who does everything) has to drive and do all the extra stuff involved in trucking. That means driving all day and then finding loads and dealing with brokers etc. So, how many hours are there in a day ? Luck to ya'

Look at Truckers U dot com. You can hire one there. Road Dog radio also has a couple of great programs back to back. First about O/O questions in general then about tires.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer and I AM NOT an OO, just some questions that should have been asked and researched before you bought the truck.
HOWEVER I HOPE YOU CAN PROVE ME WRONG and come back in a few years needing to hire more drivers because the 10-20 trucks are full and you have more freight to haul
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU, aslo there is an OWNER Operator forum this would probably be good under
Best Wishes to you -
WTF happened to the OP? Another drive-by?
