I’ll agree with letting all the farmers farm stuff, but I’ve not seen any Dot guys particularly interested in pulling the creeper out to check out a loaded cattle pot..... that said, our live fish trucks seem to get much less scrutiny loaded compared to empty. If it gets pulled in at all, it’s usually a cursory glance at “logbook and registration”. Which seems to imply some common sense on the enforcement side. Which is appreciated. I’ll happily let them crawl all over the truck and trailer while empty, but when loaded, let them roll......

Which is why across Texas, NM, and AZ you saw trains of them flying across 10 & 20 with their chicken lights lighting up the night.

Cattle can only be on the truck for a certain amount of time, and the trucks/trailers are in top shape because breaking down with live animals on is a big no no so that in turn makes them safer at higher speeds

I was taking a load from Louisville to East St. Louis along the 64. Along the shoulder I saw about four or five dead piglets. Couldn't quite figure out how they got there. I've never seen a livestock hauler stopped on the side of the road. What reason would there be for someone to check on his load? Maybe this guy did that and a sow had given birth? Maybe he tossed them out of the trailer so they wouldn't get trampled.

    Different? Yes they are.
They're doing a job that not just anybody can do and before anybody gets insulted by that just picture your average door slammer loading...or trying to load...a trailer full of yearlings. Picture your average steering wheel holder climbing up in the trailer to try to get a downer back on their feet.
Picture a young kid all by himself in a pasture at night loading out of portable pens with nobody to run the gates for him. After doing that he has to find his way back out to the road and drive hard all night to make the feedlot or sale before it gets hot.
Being a good driver is just part of what it takes to haul stock.
Try not to get run over, okay?

I passed a bullhauler once. ONCE!

But then again I have a certified double digit truck. Oh, btw, he was empty.

I passed one in my governed 65mph truck once. Even have illegal proof of it. Beats the tar out of me. I left him in the dust. I just don't get it had several others pass me all night.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

I passed one once myself... But at the time I was in a certified tuned triple digit rig myself (see pic below)

That W9 would #### 'n' git!!! I had it at 105 mph a time or two. I could take shorter up hill grades at speed too, but longer ones I'd have to lift my foot some... I didnt like to see the pyro climb over 1100.
