Walmart day cab out of Apple Valley

    Does anyone have information about this position? I've only ever seen the OTR positions advertised, but I've been seeing more and more Walmart day cabs lately. Is the day cab position something that the OTR guys promote into via seniority or is it a specific position that Walmart hires for? I currently run a day cab for another company doing intermodal work, and I live near the Apple Valley DC. Just trying to get some more info on what would be a dream job for me since I would like to be home daily since I have little kids at home

    I'm not an employee yet, but from reading older posts and threads most of your day cab DC drivers are the higher senior drivers that have been there for years.

    Some guys don't want anything to do with day cabs, if the position is posted, then go for it, just may get it.

    Keep in mind, you could lose it in 6 months with re-alignment and some senior driver decides he wants it, etc.

    I’m starting to see more WM day cab drivers out of Sutherland VA - DC including 28ft pups and flatbeds there. I wonder if Daycab Walmart drivers make just as much as a regional driver.

    day cab drivers are claims drivers. senior drivers bid those runs. flatbeds are for bags of soil. most gm dc's have flatbeds now. pubs go into dc
