Jumping back over early or moving over because they do.....that's a 4 wheeler move and also can create that road rage thing we hear so much about.

Give them their room when you come back unless (like said) an emergency vehicle is behind you.
Good chance of road spray or they don't want to meet the back of your trailer, both of which your defeating.

I'm also a Swifty in a truck governed at 65 with cruise and 63 without. Mine doesn't have the extra 2 mph option that others do.
Anyway, if someone is passing me, most of the time I just slow down a bit and let him get past me. My reason is about safety as I see it. Having 2 trucks side by side for several miles going down the road just doesn't seem as so safe. Especially in traffic where tons of cars and other non-governed trucks get bunched up behind. Now you have too many vehicles too closely bunched up and makes conditions ripe for a major pileup. Also, most of the time, once a truck gets passed me far enough that I'm OK with them coming back over, I flick my headlights at him to let them know it's OK to come back over, especially if there is other traffic behind him trying to get passed us both. Also, after being passed I usually have to back off a bit to improve following distance until they are far enough out in front. Sometimes that slowing down ends up with a cascade of other trucks behind me passing me too. I just let them.
If someone is tailgating me, I have patience. If they had had several opportunities to pass me, but didn't and I've grown tired of them being on my butt, I just back off by 1 mph. Stay that way until they have had a chance or two to pass me again and if they didn't pass me I slow down by another 1 mph. Usually slowing down by about 3 or 4 mph, they either get the message and pass me or get tired of going slower and pass me. IDK, they get passed me go on down the road and get out of my world. Problem solved. However, one time I had one rather persistent truck where I had literally slowed from 65 mph to 43 mph. I kid you not this guy comes up on me as I'm doing 65 and gets right on my butt. He stayed on my butt like that for probably over 30 miles. I mean I had slowed down to 43 mph before he finally gave it up and passed me. I still have not figured that one out. As soon as he was finally around me, he accelerated up to somewhere more than 65, because that was my speed afterward and he slowly but surely disappeared into the distance in front of me.

Many trucks have adaptive cruise control. If they get within 400 feet of another truck it will slow them down. When you pull in front of him it will do that to him. This is probably why they switch lanes, to keep a clear line of sight so the cruise keeps working at a regular speed.

I don’t have any cameras yeti do my truck thankfully doesn’t have collision mitigation but I really need and value my following distance it’s my peace and protection for when you do something stupid.. as mentioned trucks will sometimes blow your doors off and almost clip you front end trying to get over back over then you check your mirrors and there is no traffic. My truck does 68 but regardless of what speed I’m doing long as I’m up to road speed on a 3 lane highway I alway ride the middle lane until 2 miles from my exit. Because a lot of people will pass you less than a qtr mile from their stop and slam on the brakes to catch the exit ramp

I do it quite often when someone gets back over in front of me too close for my liking. Has nothing to do with having a slow truck in my case..you aggravate me too much and I’ll put you ten miles behind me :)

Honestly, some of us with fast trucks just like to chill and enjoy the ride..

Just imagine it’s night time, you pass me too close and a deer runs out in front of you..I end up inside your trailer.

Personally I like to see what’s ahead of me more than ten feet..another reason I don’t run in packs.

I will do this sometimes and here is my reasoning for it. If I'm maxxed out at gross weight and the truck that just passed me comes back over into my lane and doesn't leave me enough space, I will move over to keep my momentum up until enough space has been opened up. If I'm not really heavy, I will just stay put and back out of it until enough space opens up, I will NOT do it if I will be holding up traffic. That's my rationale, I cannot speak for the reasons other drivers might do this.

Only to pull back onto the interstate and get stuck with a different jackwagon. They live amongst us....

Sometimes a five minute break can change everything.

    Different scene I know.
I’ve had wide loads come up behind me that had rightside overhang over the shoulder. When I see this I holler at them on the radio to tell them to hold their lane. I move over left and slow down to let them slide on by. Easier than having to give clearance on his right and my left. Cool thing is I’ve had pilot chase cars hold back to let me back in the right lane after the pass so 4 wheelers don’t get stupid about it.

I’ve done that for a bridge joint in the road or a bump from a drainage pipe or just a bad spot in the lane. When you run the same route all the time you get a feel for the road and know all the vibration, bump, rough, and slick spots in the lanes.
I know I’ve had to have guys wondering what the hell when I change lanes a quarter mile ahead of them for a spot and then get back over again. Then they pass and I do it again behind them a few more times. Lol!

My radio’s always on and at times I’d let the large cars know If there is a bad spot to change a lane for. I had spring ride so it was a bit rougher for me.
