It blows me away in how many people on local Facebook pages complain about not working this and can’t get a job that but in 2 months of having a job ad posted I’ve yet to receive ONE resume.
Stupid North Dakota. I’m getting tired of pulling 20 hour shifts and need a driver baaaaaad.
For all the people say the oilfield is dying....

Its the same up here. I left northern Alberta in spring 2020 after a layoff. Had a job lined up in less than a month in central Alberta.
Walked into the Tim Hortons for lunch after accepting the job offer and was immediately approached by a fellow in the line and was offered a job. Guy said they were desperate for workers. Ads up everywhere but not one application in. Everyone was happy sitting around on CERB.Ol'Shusquatch, bentstrider83, Trucker61016 and 5 others Thank this. -
I know a couple guys that got laid off and have given up on oilfield work. It was a stability issue for them. They’re doing other trucking now.
With the amount of people unemployed in the US, it doesn’t make sense that no one has taken interest in your offer.Itsbrokeagain, bentstrider83, Trucker61016 and 4 others Thank this. -
I've heard there's a lot of employers looking for employees around here. But when CERB pays almost as much as minimum wage you can hardly expect folks to actually work for that extra $100/week that minimum wage pays over CERB.
Lite bug, bonder45 and Phantom Trucker Thank this. -

I have a buddy in GP who has many years of experience, 5 in oilfield and he’s struggling to get on with anyone there! Granted he has Beaut on his resume ( if you know that name ) -
I gave up on the oil fields. For me, it was not a work or dependability issue, it was a quality of life issue. In West Texas you work hard, get paid well, but the quality of life is zilch.....

Busy as heck here in Southwest PA. I can’t go back until I get my knee fixed (torn meniscus) I got a pretty good M-F daycab gig now. Not oilfield money but also not the oilfield hours lol. Lot more free time. I may just gone for good.
