My company put a 50 gallon fuel restriction on all fuel purchases north of I-40 due to fuel prices. This is not normally a problem as they route me up for a delivery, I pick up close by, and come right back down again. Well this time I got routed up through TN, all the way to MD, then over to Indianapolis and I can't get more than 47 gallons at the time. I told them this is rediculous. The temps are supposed to go below zero tonight where I'm at and I have to idle the truck all night long so I chew threw that 47 gallons in a hurry.

Here is my question. How long does that fuel restriction last? For example, I put 47 gallons in here at this Loves and then parked. I'll be staying overnight and leaving in the morning. Does it reset at midnight? Should I be able to get another 47 before leaving? I know that I did 47 in Ohio and 47 in Indiana just a few hours apart so I know for sure its a per-state thing but I don't know when it resets. Does anyone know?

I emailed the COO very upset about this and not having much fuel and having to idle and all this and I told him my life is worth more than a few gallons of diesel and he said if you want to quit, leave, I can't stop you.

Heck, take the COO's advice as soon as it is feasible for you. His remark is most likely an indication of the entire management's attitude.

Just idle. Then if you run out of fuel, they can pick up the tab for a mobile guy. After that, ask them how much money they saved.

Have you tried to put in your 47 gallons, then turn the pump off, then try to see if you can put another 47 gallons in right away.
I would post a copy of that email at every terminal. Let everyone know how little they value the guys that make the company money.

Yes I did that today. It accepts the EFS card, truck number but instead of saying "authorizing diesel" it says "limit reached" or something like that and shuts off before pumping a drop.

Ok just to update everyone since nobody was able to answer my original question, yes, it must reset at midnight. I went and tried and it would have allowed me to fuel the truck. I cancelled the transaction and went back to my truck but it would have worked. So 47 more gallons before I go.

It's like they don't realize that dozens of gallons in these tanks are not even usable. (I ran out of fuel in a 2016 Cascadia with 240 gallons of tank space. When I topped off I put 200 gallons in it. The truck ran out with 40 gallons still in the tanks because it ran out climbing a slight grade at an exit ramp.) They also don't realize when the temps get this cold, fuel can gel up inside the pumps. I've seen Love's truck stops shut down because the DEF and diesel was all frozen. If I am not allowed to get fuel where I can actually get it and I push it to the limit and pull into a truck stop with no services, what do I do then? If I run out of fuel this truck becomes unlivable in about 15 minutes. I have a dog in this truck. She's very sensitve to cold as shes a short haired terrier.

These idiots can't see past their noses.
