Anyone know anything about valley trans out of Minnesota? Seen quite a few ads for them lately and see they pull lowboy with equipment. Wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

I was looking into working for them last summer. The recruiter I spoke with emailed me this info-
General information - Valley Transportation Service Inc.
Open Deck Division
• Valley hauls mostly farm equipment and constructionequipment.
• We have an agreement with Caterpillar and do a lot of John Deere equipment.
•About 60-70% of our loads are over dimensional.
•New drivers typically start with a step deck and move to an RGN when they ready (waiting list).
An exception would be any driver who has significant experience hauling equipment with an
RGN.
•We ask our drivers to be out at least 3-4 weeks at a time with a day at home for each out.
•We have a ‘no pet’ policy. Zero tolerance. (Company Trucks)
•Valley has a rider policy, age 10 or over. 90 day wait- $200 per year for permit.
•Valley has been using ‘E-Log’ for several years. We use the PeopleNet System.
•Five and six axle trucks have a mileage or salary option. The seven to eleven axle trucks are all
salaried. Talk to the Recruiter about current details.
* Orientation is here in Minnesota and we do that each Monday
* We will fly/bus you here and ask you to repay us at $75 per pay period.
•We run 2017to 2020 Peterbilt 389s, 18 speed, Cummins, 70” sleeper (single bunk), APUs,
inverters and built in refrigerators.
•Valley pays 80% of the Health Insurance premium for the driver and up to 50% of the remaining
family coverage. This also comes with a health savingsaccount with up to a $500 company
match per year
* There is Dental Insurance available for purchase
•Valley has a 401K program in which you can participate after your 1st year of employment. You
contribute 3%, the company matches 3%. You contribute 4%, the company matches 3.5%. You
contribute 5%, the company contributes 4%.
•Drivers are eligible for paid time off- vacation after the 1styear.
•Valley uses direct deposit and employees are paid every two weeks.
•Valley asks all of its drivers to have a TWIC card (Transportation Workers Identification Card).

Company Driver Pay:
As I described to you in our phone conversation, the salary is your base. In addition to your salary, you have the safety and performance bonus and the mileage pay over 108k miles.
I’ll give you an example which best explains our pay here at Valley.
Example of a Company Driver that runs 108,000 miles
$975 per week salary for 108,000 miles= $50,760
Miles over 108k = N/A
Safety/Performance Bonus 108k @ $0.04= $4320
Total $55,080.00
Example of a Company Driver that runs 115,000 miles
$975 per week salary for 108,000 miles= $50,760
Miles over 108k (7,000) @ $0.47= $3,290
Safety/Performance Bonus 115K @ $0.04= $4,600
Total $58,650.00
Example of Company Driver that runs 125,000 miles
$975 per week salary for 108,000 miles= $50,760
Miles over 108k (17,000) @ $0.47= $7,990
Safety/Performance Bonus 125K @ $0.08= $10,000
Total $68,750.00
The tiers for the Safety and Performance Bonus are 108k miles/$0.04 120k miles/ $0.08 144k miles/ $0.12

Why would anyone have to pay back a company for transportation to attend their orientation? I would understand if that was stipulated for drivers that quit within, say, a month- but to expect reimbursement for transportation because a company chose to market to drivers outside a normal commute?
