Well op, here is a problem, I have heard this happen before and this is what the truth is.

When I hire a driver, I do not insure them. I add them as a driver but the insure is on the truck.

    This is how it works.

You working as a 1099 without a contract makes you an employee. So I would do two things, number one is file a complaint with the state and irs. I would also treat this as w2 employment, file taxes as a w2 employee which the irs will go after them for the taxes, not you.

See without a contract you are an employee... period.

If they presist, then let them take you to court, tell the court that they told you what to do, how to do it and treated you just like an employee,

Some of y'all giving this guy bad advise telling him not to pay his taxes. He accepted a 1099 willing and he needs to pay his taxes the same way. This individual doesn't strike me as a person that knows what they signed. I bet this person signed a stack of papers at hiring and couldn't tell you what a single one of them was.

Tell them to F off. They aren't going to take you to court.

okay, so if I’m working on a 1099 is it best not to give my social? Or what’s the deal with all that?
Also, if a driver is not insured but the truck is then does the driver get points taken off his CDL?

You've been going in circles while everyone on this forum answers your same two questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over. Now's not the time to pop an attitude. If you want to get an attitude, then direct it at your former employer, not at the guys here on the forum. We aren't the ones trying to screw you, and we aren't the ones that went to work for a shady 1099 outfit to begin with. Considering this type of thing gets posted by a new sucker every day here, it's amazing people are taking the time to help you in the first place.

First off you’re ugly so ####. Mind your business. Second, I told him I never said I signed anything. Pay attention and don’t come at me. I was using this page to get some help not get criticized for not knowing. Seems you stay on this every day. I don’t need your help so go on please.

If you don't want to read what a member is posting you can put them on IGNORE. That way you won't be irritated and get into an argument.
