It's not uncommon for us to run 1200 mile loads pretty regular. Right time of year coming outta south Florida can be 1600 to 1700 mile loads. Sometimes we get lucky and springing heifers into Florida and feeders out. Money is good but we may only get a 5 or 6 hour nap in between.

Getting up to speed quickly is bad, just like trying to run hard in traffic. Has you on the brakes all the time, which puts more stress on them. Knowing when to go and when to whoa is key. Knowing when and where to stop and unload to move a problem animal to keep from loosing it is key. Load checks, tire checks listening and feeling for trouble before it gets bad is essential. Swapping trucks under a loaded trailer isn't the best thing to do. Jumping them from trailer to trailer isn't the safest thing either on the shoulder of the road.

There are wrecks no matter what trailer you pull. To think it can't happen to you is foolish, or to think you can't get a little rest before daylight cause your loaded is a disaster waiting to happen. We all have a job to do.....its easier if we try to help each other along as best we can. Though I am as guilty as the next guy sometimes when it comes to patients.

It's not for everyone, but some one has to do it. Those of us that do choose to.....and ain't nothing special. Were just out here tryin to earn a living like everyone else.

It takes all kinds. Doubt if he lasts long hauling cattle. Seems too impatient to roll with the punches.

National Beef is a ghetto and their entire fleet is a joke....That was a poor example on your part.

The industry was built by outlaws not mega fleeters. Take away the auto shift and GPS most of you would be out of a job. Trucking has been dumbed down to a point where any idiot with a pulse, that can push the D button, and follow a GPS can have a job.

Keep up the great work Mr. Steering Wheel Holder...

If you’re pulling a 53’ spread stacker it raises a red flag in Florida because technically they’re not legal per the FL bridge laws; however race trailers are specifically defined as exempted in their state law as well. But by this point you’ve caught their attention, and we all know how that goes

I never had trouble with NM but I’ve always bought yearly permit to avoid the POEs

We buy a yearly permit for Florida....but like you say we already have their attention when they pull us in to check it.

Same here Russ. I'm over length before I even roll a car/truck on the wagon. If I remember right the Florida over length permit wasn't any too expensive.
