Actually it is an option, slow down to 65 on a 1250 mile trip (for example) compared to 78 is three hours. Let the idiots in the pickups go there own speed.

So your either in construction or farming ?
I worked construction as a driver for a little while but coming from the trucking industry I was very concerned about fuel cost. I talked to my company about it and they really were not concerned about it so I did not worry about.
Are you a company driver ? If so ask your company if they even monitor it ?

Or leave ahead of the pickups and let them play catch up.

    I haven't driven the XE/HE the mack/volvo was 1st gen DEF model. 2010-11

Whatever they call mp8 445C, would fall flat right around there 1250-1300 with a 100k frac pump.

It won't come apart it can sit there all day.

Consequences are much higher fuel consumption and substantially decreased engine life from accelerated engine wear.

Peak TQ in a diesel is a measure of engine efficiency.

A lengthy discussion ..but the longest engine life is peak Tq and slightly above , operation at peak HP or above is the shortest engine life and least efficiency.

    AModelCat Thanks this.
