Hey fellow truckers,
I have an 02 kw w900l with a c15 motor.
My problem is, it has ASR (anti slip resistance). I need it turned off. Reasons are that I drive a lot of gravel, sand, mud, and snow covered lanes. It drops the torque when the ecm detects wheel slippage and I've had to be pulled up drives to barns while other drivers have no hassle at all.
I've called kenworth and cat shops and have no idea what I am talking about, has anyone ran into this problem and how to turn it off?
Thanx

There should be a fuse in the fusebox for it. My 03 T600 had one for it.It also had aswitch on the dash to override it.

I do have the over rude switch and I've removed what appeared to be the only fuse in that circuit but I got into some today and like a bad penny the ###### thing is still haunting me!
I wonder if the engineers actually test these ideas before they throw em into a truck.... -
That switch may have been to disable the ABS system.

I passed the third grade three times....my spelling is amazing!
You're probably right, I found yet another fuse so I'll try this theory in the morning -
I have an 98 w900 with the ASR light on and the truck don't wanna accelerate unless the wheels isn't turning. I have called to shops but can't no one can help me
-
Has anyone figured out how disabled the ASR feature? Mine is on all the time, and the switch will not override it.

In the kick panel to the left of your fuse panel ( 2000 w900 ) there is a circuit breaker labeled for ABS. Remove the feed wire to the ABS breaker. Install a long handle 2 pole on-off toggle switch into the kick panel. Attach the feed to one side and the other side of the switch to the breaker. In a jam, or you know you're going to be, flip the switch up with your toe. The ABS light on the above console will go on. As soon as you're out of trouble lightly touch the switch with the bottom of your foot and the ABS lamp and the ASR lamp will flash and go off.. back to normal... need it this way in the land fills...
