Makes as much sense as not having extra fuses, but there are "drivers" everyday without the tools for the job.

I had to change a glad hand seal on Monday morning, -39 outside. Hard as a rock. Had to chip it out with a screwdriver, kept fresh one in shirt pocket to keep warm until I was ready to install it.

"Cos I get paid to drive the truck, not work on it".

Yes, a co-worker actually said that to me once.

There are warmer places on your body to store that seal. Slots right in too.

They usually have them right next to the cash register at the truckstop, easy to grab a couple at $.25 each.

i never ran into that question in all my time as a CDL instructor.

most certainly, that state CDL "written test" is trying to trip you up.

and, i'll bet dollars to donuts, some DID say yes, to bubble gum.

one point of interest, when you do get a job as a CDL driver, and get assigned your own truck?

stop by the shop and ASK them for maybe 2 spare glad hand grommets. if they refuse?

hell, they are cheap enough at any truck stop!

keep them in the drivers door pocket.

Most shops will give you a dozen or a handful. If any company hands them out 2 at a time, you had better hope your paycheck clears the bank on Friday! LOL:rolleyes:o_O

i had worked for a few companies, that did limit the "care package" you asked for.

like ONE wiper blade, ONE air line, ONE headlight, ONE park light....etc.

Yes, but.......all of the above items cost more than $.10 each. Plus.....air leaks aren't a big deal. I mean, the main function of the compressed air in a TT is only to operate the BRAKES. LOL
