Those of you that live fairly close to the DFW area and don’t mind tailgating fairly light freight this is a pretty good gig. Been here a tad over 6 years. We deliver to a major home improvement chain plus a group of large plumbing suppliers. Fiberglass bathtubs and showers so nothing is terribly heavy.
My distribution center is located in Lancaster Tx but we have several others across the country. No micromanage and no slip seating. Strong 70K plus a year and weekends off. I’ve been a company driver for over 30 years and it’s one of best. We had a driver pass due to Covid 2 weeks ago and looking for a few other good hands. Another guy retired. Not much turnover here. Just want to put this out in case anyone is interested. Yes we have full benefits and good insurance. BCBS

How much experience is required?

Depends on the individual but I’d say at least 2 years. You are expected to go from point A to B without someone holding your hand. Not just be able to fog a mirror but handle a minor issue without calling in every 15 min. Pretty easy though.

If you look at your bills and your first drop is Huntsville Tx. Don’t call the next morning from Huntsville Al.

Also I’ll add we drive 70mph new Freightshakers from Penske with the auto. Inverters and APU’s. Fuel on the yard and fuel enough on the road for your shower. No camera or other nanny bs. Prefer you fuel at J, pee lot, or Loves but fuel anywhere you need. We run Tx, eastern NM, Ok,Ks,western Mo,Ak,west Tn,some Al,Ms, Fl panhandle, and La. You run out and back leaving on Sun afternoon or Mon morning and are back at verious times on Fri. I’ve been out on Sat morning twice in 6yrs.

He’s not going to move from Fl. This is not a live in your truck job. We have fridges too but most of us don’t even bother with a tv. We’re not out long enough. If you want to put beanie weinies and lunch meat in the fridge and eat that all week or park at a pee lot and dine at the roller grill like the mega’s do you can do that. This is basically a 7am to 4pm delivery schedule job. I stop at a pee lot and shower before the rookies show up and leave for my next drop and eat at a real restaurant for the evening. Don’t have to see idiots with a blue light blinking on the side of their head. Or worry about the front end getting knocked off my truck.
hotrod1653, bzinger, 650cat425 and 3 others Thank this. -
I’m not a recruiter just a driver just trying to help the traffic mgr find a couple of hands. If you wear sweat pants and flip flops don’t bother. And seriously if you are to fat to climb up in a trl don’t bother either. Most of our drops are docks but some aren’t so don’t want to waste you time.
