    Howdy All,

I found a truck I may be interested in, it has a 3 pedal, 18 speed, Auto Shift, transmission in it, anything I should be aware of, possible problems, things to look for? Thanks for any information you can share.

You can throw a stick in it for a few bucks. Most likely.

If it's Eaton or sounds like it and older auto shift. They had trouble when they first came out. The computers could mess up and not shift gears.

The new modern Auto shift transmission are way better. The engine and transmission work together. The can talk to each other and that give you a much better setup. The transmission can tell the engine to turn on engine brakes when shifting in low gears. So the transmission doesn't miss a gear. The new DT12 transmission has GPS locations of the big hills. So it won't keep shifting gear when climbing a hill.

    Howdy All,
The transmission is Gen2, Eaton-Fuller, Auto Shift. I have the 10 speed version in my Freightliner and it works very well. I am asking questions about the 18 speed version of this transmission as I had no idea they made an 18 speed version. I have driven the newer two pedal transmissions and didn't like them, I like having the clutch pedal makes it much easier to creep up on the pin or get started on slippery stuff.
