I can see the value in the loadmaster.
    I estimated 165-190k.

I havent seen a "professional" used 1980's model that was less than 20k so i figure it'll hold its value under the worst circumstance. Btw is anything cheap in California... lol

Can anyone tell me why 7 axle trailers seem to be less prevalent than 9 axle. It seems theres far morr 80-120k construction equipment moving than 120k+ equipment.

Im speaking in reference to the SF bay area.

In SF bay area I'm guessing its because all the dilapidated bridges & roads that have diminished capacities, requiring green & bonus green weight limits on all axle groups.

Getting to anywhere in Sacramento is always a challenge....

The other thing is running as a 7 axle is gonna suck more than running as a 9 for getting around corners. I know when I run with my jeep and no booster corners are just as bad or worse than running with my entire trailer.

Ive heard from 2 separate heavy haul business owners. The baby 9 axle is much more versatile and can be used for far more equipment, is easier to secure equipment on, and load equipment. Is this true?

Yes. For most part. But you wont have the ability to back into a tough site & load over the back. But, you don't have to climb the neck in the rain on a slope. No excitement there...…….. There is no perfect trailer for all loads.

I pulled a 7 axle setup, it was kinda Frankenstein'd together. And I used a freightliner FLD120(Franken-liner) with a Detroit series 60 and a 18 spd. It did a fantastic job. Never got the front end more than 15,500 and the drives were right near 43K it is hard to get a lot of weight forward unless you put a hoe bucket up on the jeep neck.
