Yeah, I am watching schneiders website every day, and last 4-5 weeks there is like 3-5 jobs in NJ dedicated or tanker and all are 3 month+ experience. But here in NJ are plenty of local and good positions, but they wanted at least 6 month experience, which I don't have

They still have trainees on the truck because the last class graduated two weeks ago. They are letting the students that were in school finished it.

FFE is good. Our loads for restaurants, schools, and hospitals cafeteria slowed down, but we have been running loads from the KLLM side. I have not slowed down.

The CEO just put out that the FFE side of business is picking up. There is a recent graduate here @Snow Hater that says he is getting 3k miles a week.

Resurrecting an old thread here - but I have to say, I would LOVE to drive a mixer or a dump. Its literally one of the reasons I am getting my CDL. I look forward to the day I can leave my desk job to go do that and no I am not trolling.

Even with no or little experience? Whats the catch then? Pay?

I don't know anyone personally who does it (OTR, regional dry/flatbed work yes, but not any vocational trucking) so I don't have any inside info other than its something I would like to do.

Maybe I should start a new thread about it or search instead of hijacking this one. :)

I can’t find a job that isn’t OTR and I won’t do OTR. There’s no trucker shortage. It’s just that OTR is such a crap life and poor pay that most quit before the first year is up so it’s constant recruiting. The good jobs are not vacated. I’m getting passed over for even the crappiest local back breaking work because of my age and they too always hire.

I've always been OTR, except for a few months. Made a good living. Didn't want local and turned down dozens of local jobs. It's not for everyone though; I understand that.
