Arkansas just shuts down, people won' t leave the house. Up North we shovel , and dig out, get stuck, freeze our buts tarping loads. They might be smarter in Arkansas.

Easy to kick a state when they are down. I wouldn't want my tax money going towards a once in a generation event. Easy to stay warm without electricity but hard to stay cool. They have that 100 degree heat thing down! Most of the people laughing are the same ones who would melt in 100 degree heat and run from a snake. It's all relative. Heat wave rolls through Chicago and it's time to get the body bags out.
Just one of those things. They will be planting grass seed this weekend. 50 different and unique states. I don't know how anyone could live up north, but I respect the hell out them just the same.

I have power, but the water lines are froze up. Taking showers at a gym. Half of the grocery stores are stripped bare of meat, dairy, and bread. Half of gas stations are either no power or out of product.

I was living in the DFW area then. Because the area was on the national spotlight TxDot brought in a bunch of plows from up in the panhandle and did an ok job of keeping the main roads open. I was running some local loads that week and would leave Saginaw in the early am to Garland to drop and then deliver some where nearby. But I got out of there just in time to miss the ice on a load to S Carolina. By the afternoon of the game those plows were already on their way home.
