I also use the torpedo heater routine. I angle it past the fuel tank and right in under the engine from the pass. side rear.
On the drivers side I have a sheet of 1/4" plywood about 30" high x 8"long to block the heat in. Rarely takes more than 10 min. to warm it up. My problem is not starting, i have a block heater for that, I have plastic air lines to operate the Air switching on the PTO gear, for turning hydraulics on/off.
I leave the valve switched to the on position, and soon enough it is clattering to go in, so I knock it off, bleed the tanks again,
and - good to go.

Fasten a trickle charger so its running along with block heaterS. Never any issue starting trucks if there is a plug in available.

I was parked at the truckstop in Newton Kansas quite a few years ago. Gentleman beside me had a cut off 55 gallon drum underneath his oil pan with charcoal in it. After eating breakfast and walking back out to my truck his truck was on fire got mine out of the way just in time.
