New problem...during a bunch of rain coming out of Austel GA with my load, my active cruise, my collision mitigation system and my radar are now all throwing up a warning (saying that there is debris blocking it, just like it did coming out of Greeley a couple weeks ago) only I drove all the way to Jacksonville, dropped my loaded trailer, went across town and picked up an empty, and it's still saying it's blocked...makes for a much quieter ride without it, and now that I know how to use the cruise with out the #####box...I may just keep forgetting to tell them it's broke until it's B service time.
Now the bad news for me. With having to go on a trailer easter egg hunt, I burned a bit too much time off my few remaining hours to make it home tonite...so I sleep at the drop yard and roll home in the morning. #### elogs....although my neighbors will appreciate it since our hood is so quiet you can hear an owl cackling a mile away. -
xlsdraw, Speed_Drums, gentleroger and 2 others Thank this.

I've followed this thread out of curiosity and I assumed a lot of mechanical complaints about these Crete trucks might have been exaggerated until I drove one across town. It was terrifying and I did not feel in control.
It was brief but here's what I noticed in that 2021 Freightliner:
- can't set the cruise and leave the Jake on
- no manual mode
- lane departure is screaming loud and distracting
If you can drive one of those things you have my utmost respectItsbrokeagain, xlsdraw, Speed_Drums and 3 others Thank this. -
Just sitting here at home in awe of what the Commercial Weather Channel is showing going on in the OklaTex area. Once this is over, I can see a huge demand to restock and resupply, so I guess I'd better be prepared to spend some time running from the east coast to OklaTex and back.
Speed_Drums, Rollr4872, IH Truck Guy and 1 other person Thank this. -

I just got loaded in Kentucky heading to Columbus Ohio and it is starting to snow pretty good here in Calvert City. Just spent almost three days at the North 40 in Halliday Tennessee waiting for my receiver to thaw out and reopen. Not too productive for the week.

83° and sunny for my last day at home. Pick up in Jax tomorrow going to St. Louis for Sunday. So things are picking up just like when I left. Plus, I got my taxes done, and Uncle Sam will be paying me back for the interest free loan I over paid him last year. To my surprise, my wife and I actually grossed more than $1000 in 2020 than I did in 2019. And that is with all the Covid lockdowns, the time off when Wylie alleged I quit, and 2 weeks off with the kidney stone treatments. If 2021 continues where 2020 left off, and I don't get pissed off too much with Shaffer's equipment, it should be a block buster of a year.
