Just call them back and tell them what you’ve told us! Admitting your wrong and apologizing will go a long ways and maybe repair a relationship. Worth a shot!
SoulScream84, Dino soar and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
you have no contract for the load they started loading. Bond insurance is for breaking contracts. -
SoulScream84 Thanks this.

There is a time to stand your ground and a time to be reasonable.
Truck ordered not used is usually $150. A layover is sometimes 250. He was offering you 300 to give you compensation for having to wait until the next day basically.
I don't know what time of day you arrived there but $300 to wait until the next morning is reasonable. I'm not sure it's truck ordered not used because really truck ordered not used is you signed the rate con and you drive to the shipper and they say oh there's no load for you at all and they give you $150 and you have to go find another load.
So in my opinion he was giving you 300 for a layover and then you take the load that you agreed to.
In transportation sometimes these things happen that the wrong load gets loaded or there's an error and the best that you can do is try to work with it.
But I do think $300 to lay over until the next morning is reasonable.SoulScream84 and bad-luck Thank this. -
What you posted was fraud. Remember trucking is a federally regulated industry. The consequences could be severe. Lastly, the rate con is an agreed upon contract. The load is not yours until both you and the broker sign it. Also, generally a tunu is between $150 and $200. Layover is generally $250. The most I have ever gotten in my 33 years in trucking for a layover was $400 plus detention after 24 hours.
Dino soar Thanks this. -
They’re offering $300 for truck furnished not used.
You’ll either have to take the load, or they can be cheaper and tell the other company to keep going and just pay them and leave with with only $300.
They didn’t screw up, the shipper did. -
Drivers are some of the biggest crybabies in the world
shanman Thanks this. -
Maaaan- do drivers get cheated out of layover and detention pay.
The most I've ever gotten for layover pay was $125 and for detention it was $15/hour until layover pay amount is reached, then it's just layover pay and no more, even if it's past 24 hours. -
