I witness, truck was stuck, another driver brought the matts out did not do anything. Sand and salt, or chains.

Same here. I’ve used a lot of salt this year around my area (Pittsburgh). Even got stuck at the end of off ramp. Two PennDot trucks snuck past me and don’t offer help or salt. Glad I had my own. Useless state employees.

I don't believe plow drivers are allowed to assist. I had a relative who ran snowplow for a couple of seasons. They were explicitly told not to pull out stuck vehicles or assist with non-emergencies. They could radio for a tow truck but that was really it. This was 30 years ago too.

Interesting. All I wanted was some salt to save my own. Technically I paid for what he had in his bed LOL

That said, it wouldn't be that hard to drop a bunch of extra sand on the ground while passing by so it could be swept or shovelled under the tires.

Exactly. And he was stuck in the line of traffic behind me cause I had everything blocked. And it was a construction area so no shoulder to work with. He couldn’t care less.

Don't even get me started on PennDOT. I write the Gov every year around this time. Every state I go to the DOT trucks are moving, either salting or pushing snow or even just checking stuff out by driving. Roads are usually pretty clean even the shoulders. Then I get to the PA line, Left lane snow, shoulder snow, DOT in the middle texting on the phone.... Every year not just one bad apple mind you, every stinking year.
I moved to PA back in 2003 to get away from a liberal state with high taxes (N.J.) Looks like PA is getting there but not as efficient in putting up a good cover like the others around us. They keep raising our taxes but we have nothing to show for it.

I hear ya. I go to the same shipper 3 days a week. It’s a very busy 2 lane that connects 2 interstates and a few state routes. The freaking PennDot garage is on this road. For some reason it has been the worst road lately. I only travel about 3-4 miles of it and there has been an accident every single time it snowed. That’s ridiculous and uncalled for.
Most of the accidents are happening right in front of a township garage and police department on a curve. You would think they would come salt that curve to save them the hassle of snowy traffic control waiting on a wrecker. Nope. They sit in driveway watching and waiting.
