Get some calcium chloride pellets. Any brand Handy plastic jug. A bag is cheaper, sprinkled in front of drive tires, and put some on top of the tire on the tread. When you get rolling, it will help pave the way. Works great.
I was stuck in the snow recently and now ran across a problem

I've taken a heavy rope (cut to desired length )and ran it through the holes in the rims and around the tire , tie knot. You may not need but 3-4per outside to get moving, remember stay away from the valve several holes ( aluminum wheels )when the rope tightens it will slide on the tire and could get against it. Results -flat. The other posts are good also, each case is different as to what works best and time permitting . Cat litter works this in some cases and it's great for oil / fuel spills.

My take is it's not the wrecker operators problem the OP's office folks were dragging there feet on getting him paid. Sure the job ended when he got him in stuck....however the time didn't stop. He let to OP go on to shipper/reciever which ever it was out of courtesy. Had he not followed and tapped his foot how long would he have had to wait to be paid?
If the OP would carry enough cash or card to handle things like this in real time he would have saved moneyCowboyrich, 650cat425, 4mer trucker and 7 others Thank this. -
2.) my issue is with him telling me it was one price then charging almost double when he talked to the companyalds Thanks this. -
Your words were it was taking your company forever to get this deal done. You hate when shippers/receivers hold you what you feel is too long for no reason????
Saying you had the funds readily available on the side of the road the minute this guy unhooked from you but you chose to jack him around, have him follow you to receiver and wait......you got what you got.Last edited: Feb 19, 2021

So my takeaway from this -
the first answer from amodelcat was the best.
And keep cash and calcium chloride as a plan B.
**Points for novel solution; w/several lengths of rope idea.

The common phrase from a tow truck driver is, “everyone thinks these trucks don’t cost any money, but they do.” After that, they sock it to you.
I’ve been on a hook twice. Both times I had my card out and offered to pay immediately, practically waving it in their face. Both times they were more than fair with me on the price.
When I was a company driver, they socked it to me the time I needed a tow and I got the phrase from the driver that I posted above. The guy knew he was charging too much but he did it because he could. -
Western flyer Thanks this.
