CB Power...Battery verses Cig. Power Outlet. When?

    I think you'll be fine with the cigarette lighter, as long as it doesn't have a lot of alternator whine in it. I just looked up the power sockets on ebay, the ones I found have 4 amp fuses in them. And you're certainly welcome.

    Yes this is pretty much why, to avoid interference noise....even though a dirty alternator can do the same thing with the radio hooked to the battery.

    Some of the really high powered radios with a built in amp you don't want to run off a cig lighter anyways.
