Good to know about the DEF.

There are a few times I've bought some of my own stuff because I would get so frustrated not having it. One of those things was one of those more expensive 100ft extension cords that stay flexible no matter how cold it gets, and I made sure to get a 12g sized one. And I say that because apparently nobody in the office thinks things through or asks the drivers what would be best, so for quite a few winters they bought us 100ft 14g or even sometimes a couple 16g extension cords for our fleet, and of course with improperly sized cords, they would get burnt at the ends, the circuit breakers would sometimes trip overnight, and almost every year or every other year they'd just keep buying the same cheap garbage. It's sometimes comical the stuff we see and go through, but also gets frustrating, especially when it seems like you need basically the entire crew of drivers to complain about some specific thing before something gets done about it.

It's an international reaching Billion dollar company, but that thing the drivers are asking for, well, "it's not in the budget". Myself and the other drivers often make jokes out of that, we'll jokingly ask the management "so hey when is the company filing for bankruptcy?"

What really gets me is that we are the most scrutinized department of the whole company, they know everything; how long you're idling, where you're at, how long you were at a delivery, how much driving you did vs miles, and all this stuff, and they set all these standards for all that stuff, and you know what great reward you get very reaching all the goals? A good old fashioned pat on the back lol. But to be fair we get paid by the hour and pretty well, good benefits, but there are zero incentive systems in place, you get nothing for doing the best and nothing happens to you if you're performing the worst. Actually, if you're performing the worse (especially in service and drive times) you actually make more money than everyone else because you rack up so many more hours and overtime. I have often wondered how many other companies are like that.

@mpd240 Nice! That Honda has to get at least a tad bid irritated starting at -20, no?

    If not that is impressive!
