Yellow / YRCW to offer paid CDL training at 7+ locations

BEWARE! Yellow has been in trouble for some time. The last bailout they received in July gave Uncle Sam 29.6% ownership. Unlike UPS Freight, the list of buyers for an LTL outfit with past due health, welfare and pension contributions is very short!

 

People here have been saying this for many years about YRC , yet here they are hiring 1500 new drivers, and offering a paid training program. Things can’t be all that bad there. They pay decent, free health care, etc. It’s a good job.

 

Job isn’t bad at all. It’s honestly very laid back almost too laid back meaning unorganized and no accountability. Just the higher ups suck with money they mismanage it and never or hardly profit. Then they will cry that they can’t give you a raise. Why they are .10 cpm under what the other LTL’s are making. They still pay decent and have great healthcare. You just can’t count on the pension like SSI. It might be there when you retire or not. Just like the company it might be around 20 years or it might go under. A lot of uncertainty with them. They’ve been like this for years and years and somehow survives.

 

Yep, there’s no certainty anywhere in trucking. Things can change overnight, no matter where you are. Fortunately, just about every company is always hiring.

 

Teamsters are going to receive 86 billion $ pension bailout as part of the 1.9 Trillion bailout.
Did i read that right.
