Randomly like today when I picked it up from the shop I drove about 30 miles and it started to act up then when it does act up it hard to drive since you lose throttle

Most likely you have wiring problem like many other Volvo owners.
I'll start from cleaning all grounding connection as the bad one can cause unpredictable codes.
Ground cable from battery to starter, ground cable from battery to cab pass thru (they are under air tubes).
Ground cable from battery to frame. This one has fusible link under shrink tube on the frame side. Need to check with ohmmeter.
And Bendix diagnostic to check the ABS module itself.Volvo_780 Thanks this. -

You need more electronic technician to find Volvo gremlins.
More information for your mechanic you can find on Bendix web page. They have very good PDF for EC-60 ABS module with code troubleshooting and pinout diagrams. -
