That's precisely what I was thinking! I was going to comment something similar but you beat me to it. $4k a week is gross before expenses. After his lease payment, insurance, Qualcomm fees, other fees, fuel and maintenance he probably makes less than a new CR England driver.

 

Im beginning to think these Chicagoland companies are a cabal.

Czechoslovakian’s and other Eastern Europeans have somehow systematically altered a significant portion of the Illinois trucking landscape, making it commonplace to pay escrow deposits, 1099 Emplyoment status, and the acquiescence of multiple summary payroll deductions as a condition of working there.
They’re all in it together.
All perfectly legal

Truckers either fail to read the contract, don’t understand what they’re getting themselves into, or are willfully complicit in their own demise. Either way it is a multimillion dollar hustle. The practice has metastasized to other parts of the country as well.

Are just a few states where these predatory trucking companies have moved their business. Once the trucking company’s CSA score becomes a liability, they simply get a new MC/DOT number. This keeps them under the radar.

I’ve sent emails to associate producers of 60 minutes giving details of what is happening in this industry. The cancer that is blatantly taking advantage of unsuspecting drivers with bait and switch tactics and flat out lies.

I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if what we were witnessing was a racket by Russian organized crime.

I drove for them and made over $2,500 a week after deductions but you have to be smart like me. Watch your speed, and get your own fuel card. They don't offer fuel discounts with their card and I drove for them 4 years ago. With the higher cost of fuel now, I'm sure you will make much less now.
