So far this has been the best OTR job I've found. It's a small fleet. The owner is always on the yard and is very friendly, accommodating and approachable. Same can be said for the ladies in the office. The equipment isn't brand new but it is very well maintained and that's what counts at least for me. They have both manuals and autos depending on your preference (I like to drive with a manual). It's primarily dry vans. They start the pay at .45 CPM and it goes up from there depending on experience. They started me at .50 CPM with a total of 4 years of CDL driving experience. So far no other OTR company has made me a better offer. Best I got was .45 CPM for an OTR flatbed job. They wanted me to strap, chain and tarp for less money and less miles since their trucks were governed. I'm not going to say who that company was just that I politely declined their offer to do more work for less money. Anyhow, if you want an OTR job with a company that actually gives a hoot about drivers I will recommend this one. Especially if you live in North Texas. I'm writing this without anyone at the companies knowledge and am not in any way receiving any compensation for doing so. If you want a critical review from me just ask me about Black Ridges neighbors Trans Scam! -Bret

Send this post to your company and then ask them for a raise for it ... or at least a bump up in title.

Driver ... and executive Vice President of marketing and Human Resources

LOL I don't think I'm cut out for HR. I think I'll stick to driving. I'm quick to tell you not to walk but to run from Stevens Transport, Trans Scam or Southern Refrigerated so why not talk about a company that I actually like? We can't be negative all the time.

Also I got an offer for a Frac sand hauling job that is an offer I cannot refuse. I feel bad for accepting the offer because Black Ridge has been good to me but it's hard to say no to an opportunity to earn $2,500 to $3,500 a week. So maybe if I give them good notice, return their equipment in good shape and say nice things about them I'll get a good reference and get rehired if the price of oil tanks and I get laid off at some point down the road lol

How many trucks do they have and what's the requirements, hiring area, running area etc. Do they train and take new drivers?

I don't know the exact number of trucks but like I said it is a small company. They have several trucks but it's not in the hundreds. I think pretty much anyone who has a valid CDL-A license and a valid DOT medical card who can pass a drug test is welcome. There's only one terminal in Rockwall, TX so I think the hiring area is primarily north Texas although the trucks do go everywhere
