So far it's ok but qc is more of bad version of landstar for tankers like for example if you run regional you might be ok but if your terminal has bad relationship with the other terminals you might end up doing broker loads or alot of deadhead

Ya I would be one to move on. I’ve had my beard for years. I like to look as manly as possible lol.

With OTR chemicals, you will rarely have to load. I've only been to two places that made me do that. But you will often do the unloading.

Supposed to shave for my company as well but grew a grizzly beard past two-months and stuffed it underneath oversized covid mask I haven't been required to wear hazmat respiratory mask in ages. It's usually just helmet/glasses/steeltoes/covidmask. Our non-hazmat tanker-yankers are basically ZZ Top, lol.

Schneider had that policy but you gotta know your customers...some customers strictly enforce it.. most could care less...in fact a lot of the places that unload you or have a delivery guy, their delivery guy will have a beard down to his chest.. but it’s to protect you in case you have to wear a respirator... I knew most of my customers and the product and that the office people at Schneider went home at 5pm. So the only time I shave was if I had to go into the office before 5 which was rare cause I could balance my 14

I've been keeping myself clean shaved after my dad made some "terrorist" comment about my failed attempts at beard growing a decade ago. But apart from that, no real requirement apart from what the employer and sometimes the facilities you're frequenting require. Like the HAZMat tankers have mentioned, and from past experiences with trying to get on with Dept of Corrections, a clean shaven face ensures a tight seal with any given facemask or full face respirator(I carry both regular facemasks and a $400 3M FF403 in my truck for reasons). Then of course food production facilities like the dairy processing plants I do also don't want an errant hair flying around.
