If I were approached in a truck stop I would immediately think that company is a bottom feeder. Right or wrong it's what I would think.DoubleO7 Thanks this. -
My husband and I got approached to team for another company at the fuel island in Ohio. The guy wouldn't take no for an answer. I was pissed. He even offered to buy us a steak dinner to discuss his company.
Don't do it. Drivers time is precious to them.DoubleO7, Lumper Humper and Jmac00 Thank this. -
Absolutely agree with the fuel island and at your truck(that is sacred ground). This is a non-commissioned pitch, getting tons of feed back and I’ve been told to stuff enough business cards up my rear that I could be a piñata. Casual conversation with those who often engage first has been my best approach. If you’re milling around waiting, I might be able to get 5 seconds of your time. Online marketing and word of mouth will always be a better approach than some random guy trying to stuff a 4x6 brochure in your hands. Thanks for the continued feedback.
Lumper Humper and Jenn72 Thank this. -
A good company doesn't need to be begging for drivers.
Your company would do well to try for better retention on the drivers they have now. Sending a recruiter to a truck stop is an act of desperation.DoubleO7 and Lumper Humper Thank this.
