@Wasted Thyme you work for a big company, and if they're telling you that, then maybe they've found a technicality in the nomenclature, and have attorneys on standby for just such an occasion.

But that doesn't mean you have to buy into it, man. Eventually you might move on, and you don't want to bring that baggage with you.

Chained up Thursday morning in a customers lot, pesky foot of snow/ice fell overnight, and I got there before the plow did, I guess I could have waited 4 hours till the plow arrived, but then I would have been 3 hrs late for my appointment, customer would have refused the load, I would have had to take it to our yard, which means the boss would try to charge the customer a $150 yard pull, which they would have refused to pay since it would have been my fault the load was late. Just out of curiosity, with your wrong size chains, what would you have done?

I'll humor you. Issue wouldn't have happened with my company. All the loads are planned to allow for adverse situations. They are routed at 50 MPH. So each day we have roughly 2 hours to handle such issues. Plus this company would rather you be safe and late. The CSR would have communicated with the receiver. If it would have caused a delay and arranged a new appointment time.

FYI..50mph dispatch is the norm in this business and has nothing to do with adverse weather conditons.

Washington state scale trooper inspected my chains for size. I had smaller tires on the trailer.
He said I would've received a fine if I didn't have proper size chains. That also meant spare chains for each size.
This was a couple years ago. Maybe that part of enforcement changed.

Oregon’s fine for not having all six chains in truck is $480
Co. Used to put up on their freeway signs. Trucks unable to move. Blocking a lane of freeway. $1,600 fine

Not having the correct chains would drive me nuts, don't get me wrong because I don't LIKE chaining, they just fall under rather have and not need instead of need and not have.

To many variables, I want equipment and tools that work.

LMAO, WOW, so your company has the ability to control the weather and adjust the weather, that's awesome, when the storm was predicted to dump 3 to 6, and instead dumped 8 to 14 with freezing drizzle. Well, just to humor you, had I missed that appointment, the next one would have been this coming Monday, so unless your dispatcher has the ability to move mountains with the DoD, you would have been sitting for 4.5 days, losing money, twiddling your thumbs.

Would you carry a pistol chambered in .45, and only bring along a box of 9mm?
