Heh my new truck already has 10k miles on it.. I'll be up there in no time at this rate..lol
If my new one ever goes, I'm gonna snatch the Dmax out and stuff an old mechanical DT466 and a 10 speed Eaton in it.. lol
I'm surprised your doing non cdl btw.. personally I liked the no payments (still haven't made my 1st one yet..lol) but man, having the ability to not worry so much about taking long runs has upped my income quite a bit.
I liked both my 350 and 550 6.0's but I really limited myself on loads because I didn't like getting too many states away from home.Last edited: Mar 2, 2021

I thought you were just finishing up fitting the F550 you got.?
Pulled it off the road & got something different.?24kHotshot Thanks this. -
Yeah, I did but.. I got a golden Goose load paid a crazy amount up to Idaho.. It loaded like 30 mins from my house so I got loaded up and was gonna leave real early the next morning but the truck started overheating on the way home.. (I had just gone to TX then to AL to VA to AL and back to FL no problems before that I had it up to IN and back so it had some long runs under it) but I get loaded up try to go and I'm overheating....
I tore the radiator & intercooler out and the water pump. Cleaned the hell out of it and the water pump was already new as was the thermostat. Put it all together drove it all over was fine. try to take off the next day and it starts overheating again in less than 30 miles... ( I think it's the oil cooler)
Anyway, I was probably going to buy a truck this summer so I bit the bullet and bought a new truck. I tried to buy a new F550 but the crappy dealer (that I've hauled loads for) wouldn't sell me a truck with no bed...
I ended up getting a brand new completely loaded 2019 Chevy C5550. It's the looooong frame single cab. It's actually perfect for what I wanted because it's long enough to do a sleeper and still do my step deck mod on my trailer. Anyway got a good deal on it because it was a 2019 that a company had ordered a bunch of them all decked out then never took them. Has aluminum wheels and all the bells and whistles and wasn't white..
So it was either buy a new truck or give up a load that paid $14,5k so I bought the truck on a Sunday night, spent till 1pm that monday custom fitting my hitch from the F550 onto it and mud flaps a tool box ect then drove to Idaho from FL and delivered on Thurs.. lol
I came back got it "legal" and took it out for a quick run and ended up in Cali.. now I'm in OK with it and looks like I'm going to go back to Cali tomorrow.. Already at 10k miles and haven't made my 1st payment yet.. lol
Anyway, this is it and what I took to Cali the 1st run.. I wouldn't be doing these runs with the old f550 though, I was worried too much to run it that hard so I guess it was time for the upgrade.

Shoot for $14,500 load, I may have run out & bought something too!! That's a sizable chunk toward her right there!
Congratulations on the new ride, hell of a job getting the hitch on in such short order to make delivery. She looks like a moneymaker!!
Make sure to toss a cb in there, we're bound to cross paths sooner or later on 301, i4, 95, or 75 I'd reckon.?24kHotshot, crocky, Lite bug and 1 other person Thank this.
