I'm a driver that has 9 months of experience and was fired from one company for three minor incidents during that time.
This makes Insurance the most hated word in my lexicon since it has trapped me between needing more experience to finish out my 1st year to be given a second chance by those companies that are willing to give a chance straight away for being fired and unable to be hired by those companies that won't give me a chance until I can show that I can drive 6 months without a preventable accident.
Ladies, gentlemen, if I have to wait 6 more years for these incidents to disappear from my record before I can drive again it seems like I might as well let my CDL die due to the added liability brought on by having it.
Unless there are options I missed or just don't know about. Any advice?
Catch-22?

Well, while I agree, insurance can be your worst nightmare, and I'm sorry, but 3 minor accidents in a short time, is an indicator that something is wrong. Heck, my 1st job, I got chewed out after the mechanic on a PM had to adjust my brakes more than normal, indicating, I was "overdriving" the truck. Unfortunately, insurance companies call the shots, and trucking companies simply can't take a chance on you, as you have exhibited not the best record, and I think your goose is cooked for a while.
See, what has happened in our society, is people have a false sense of security, thinking, oh, I can make mistakes, and I should be covered,,,well, there was a time when that was true, but not anymore, the liability is just too great, and images of semis plowing into stopped cars, doesn't help either. I say, and not rudely, but I'd do something else, you are already in a data bank, and that's hard to fix. Good luck.tscottme, firemedic2816 and Ryu_Gabriev Thank this. -
That's it then, I suppose. Thank you for that sobering advice, sir. I appreciate the honesty. I'll be closing this thread by tomorrow and more than likely leaving the forum afterwards. Good luck everyone, in your endeavors.

What is a minor incident?
lovesthedrive and TripleSix Thank this. -
You mentioned the added liability of having a CDL. Please elaborate.
I have a CDL-A that I’m not using and probably will never use, but I’m keeping it just in case..Badmon, firemedic2816 and tscottme Thank this. -

1. As I understand it, any accident you have when holding a CDL is treated far more harshly than a regular license.
2. Minor incidents are events that require a tow truck to resolve, but generally haven't damaged the truck or load or hurt other drivers. In my case, getting stuck in a ditch and having a low pressure steer tire pop off the rim while trying to limp to a repair shop so that the flat wouldn't be counted against me.Canadianhauler21 and Coffey Thank this. -
Their are second chance companies. Like western express. They had bad reviews but their or probably other second chance companies that might be better

Vlad and Ivan from the Chicagoland area can put you in a truck. I know a guy who was fired because the cops caught him with 1/2 a case of Budweiser in his cooler (wasn't drinking and driving, just keeping it cold for when he shut down for a 10). He swore he didn't know he couldn't have beer IN the cab of his truck. The company had to sent 2 drivers 150 miles in a company car to retrieve him and his truck so he could clean it out and get off the property. 2 weeks later he was driving a white Volvo.
