Is this dry rot that I see between the tread? The trailer was sitting before I purchased it although the tread is good. If it is dry rot how long do I have?
How long do I have with these tires?

That is absolutely nothing. IMO those tires have plenty of life left. I have that in between my steer tires tread. I only run my truck local and seasonal. So it takes me 2 y ars to go through tires.

I see most dry rot failures in the side walls of tires that have not been capped. Do you know how to tell how old the tires are?

That is just normal ozone cracking for the “green x” generation of Michelins. Probably got some in the sidewall near the beads too. They start to do that within a year or two down here in the hot sun.
Nothing to worry about. Run them down and cash ‘em in for retread credits. A tire is gonna give you its most miles once it gets below 8/32’s as long as nothing mechanical eats them. I’m guessing they have around 9 or 10/32’s by the pic.
In 2010 the epa banned some chemicals that manufacturers used to mix in the compounds so cracks don’t happen. They have not been able to find a substitute. California claimed that these chemicals were creating cancer causing dust as they wore down. Lol!black_dog106, D.Tibbitt, God prefers Diesels and 6 others Thank this. -

No it looks like down in the tread it's dry rotted.
I'm trying to figure if that's normal or if that's going to be a problem. -
