Yeah, trust me I hated to do it specially after just getting the F550 pretty much where I wanted it..
Its strange, I almost think the load was just too heavy and too much drag for the old Ford because I've ran the hell out of it around town and can't get it to overheat or even run hot..
The load though was kinda at my max so I'm guessing it was just enough weight to give me problems but I think it would have been fine with a lighter load.
Anyway, I got out of Cali to OKC and now I'm half way back to Cali again. Took some AC usits out of Norman going to Sacramento..
Crazy though, I just hit 11k miles today and have around 800 left on this trip so I'll be a tad under 12k miles and when I drop this load I'll have done a tad bit under $30k revenue with the new truck, so it was worth getting.
Now the down side is I'm spending a ton on hotels right now and had to pay $2,3k for insurance this month when adding the new truck but now will go back to around $1k..
Also put $5k down on the truck so I've spent a pretty good amount to get going again.
But it's nice to finally have a good solid set up with out having to worry..will be even nicer when I get a sleeper on it and get my mods done on my trailer so I can max out the car money when I do cars.
As for a CB, yeah I'm putting one on it, just have to figure out where to mount it. They have something just about everywhere and I hate to put it on top of the dash.

Just for the record trying to keep the F550 and add the new truck with just me as the only driver was going to make my rate go up to over $20k.. It was ridiculous. I could see if I was adding a 2nd driver but I just wanted to keep the ford around because I kinda like it, but didn't like it that much.. lol24kHotshot and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -

24kHotshot's situation is why I'll keep a spare truck around one sensor on the new one and oops lost customer or load stuck somewhere. Not like when we had dependable trucks So we'll pay the extra 7 grand while looking for another company.
Lite bug and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
I can totally see a spare truck coming in handy if my truck goes into the shop for a month or more. I just have parking issues in my area with commercial vehicles so it's not really an option for me.Lite bug, singlescrewshaker, crocky and 1 other person Thank this.
