I disagree. That is a quarter million dollars for 50 weeks. There would be biddings wars for guys wanting to grease hiring managers for those jobs. Kind of like it was in Vegas 15 years ago for guys wanting dealing jobs, but on steroids.

I read on this forum that the company has changed, so maybe it's not the same anymore I don't know. But how the company was at least a few years ago was that this was one of the few companies that would hire ex felons or people who had been in and out of the criminal justice system. I suppose they also took people with bad driving records too. They basically took people who had no other choice but to try to find ANY company that would give them a chance, stick it out with said company for a year to get verified and proven experience and then hope that a better company would be willing to see past their misdemeanors/felonies and let them drive for them.
That's how they were (or maybe still are) able to pay what amounts to slave wages. At $0.20 per mile and 2500 miles per week that's $500 paycheck per week. 500/70 = $7.14 per hour with no overtime included, which is less than the lowest minimum wage ($7.25) in the entire country. And yes minimum wage in North Carolina is $7.25 per hour. -
98 percent of truckers can’t throw their trash or piss bottles in the garbage, they certainly don’t need a raise.
