almost all customers want construction tires on winter service trucks, very few want winter tires.
i usually chose goodyear ultragrip wts and wtd or conti hsw/hdw scandinavia.
i think it is not that simple to talk about tires on plow truck, depends on type of snow, altitude, possible temps, number of driven axles and how good is snowplow.
great snowplow can be even 2.5x more expensive than average one, that tears everything to asphalt.

963 - for road going trucks, made for lightweight, road handling, comfort, it has hollow front, aluminium spring hangers, self tracking rear axle....they come only with air suspension and disc brakes, but can have HAD hydraulic front axle
964 - made for hard work, air or spring suspension, narrow flexible or wide rigid frame..... up to 4 driven axles etc, in general their chassis and axles are 20% stronger than actros.
on EU market Actros/Antos were 963 while arocs 964.
now there is no longer antos but it is renamed to actros S/M cab, while actros become actros L cab.
actros was too sensitive for construction work while arocs too heavy so they starting to combine components.
i ordered one of first trucks with this mix (feb/2017), at that moment it was possible only on narrow cab with engine tunnel and 4x2. now it works on all 3 height of cabs and both on wide and narrow cabs, you can get it now as 4x2, 6x2, 6x2/4 (not 6x2/4) and 6x4 tractors (not rigids). there is front bumper, with lights etc, steps, front straight full axle (2.5inch more ground clearance) rear suspension of arocs, 35-50mm higher, and rigid one piece V link, but there is no front crossmember with towing pin but you depend on tow eyelets.
on some markets where they have rough "road" conditions where regular 963 would not be able to hold up like it should, arocs is renamed to actros (internally actros 5 BM964), it is arocs with simplier electronics, frame with drum brakes, spring suspension trilex wheels, everything except grille.
On those markets Arocs as tractor is only AWD
@haycarter might notice that Australian Actros 2763 LS for roadtrains (basically Arocs) has different look than Actros 2663 LS.
there is also possibility to get Arocs grille and central towing pin on Actros tractors.
this is not possible on actros F, you get straight front axle and rear suspension but bumper and headlights remains same.daf105paccar, medioker, nevesu and 1 other person Thank this. -
