Health insurance?

Current Walmart drivers:
How is your health insurance?

Hubby has two weeks before he goes to orientation. The only thing keeping him at his current employer (UPS Freight) is the awesome health insurance.

 

Yes, they are aware. The health insurance they currently have would stay the same through the end of their contract which is Summer 2023

 

The health insurance is through the Teamsters not through UPS Freight. Which is why I think it is such a good plan - because they have more negotiating power.

But, It's not OTR. And he's been ready to get back on the road for a while now. The job as he does it right now is he just drives from his terminal to a terminal about 2 and 1/2 hours away, waits to be loaded, and then drives back.

But it's not like potential employers will give you all the info about health insurance when you are applying. He wants to know specific things like how much is it per week, how much co-pays to go to office visits are, what the deductibles are, if there is a health savings plan option, what prescriptions are like, etc.

His fear is that he will go to a company where he can make more money but he's going to end up paying more per week for insurance and that it's going to be like $50 office visits and $5,000 deductibles and prescriptions will be insane.
