All things being equal I guess it's the largest campaign contribution. Did you adopt a blind dog, did you carry a crippled child across the street, do you donate all your free time to the shelter and never miss church on Sunday and are you still a virgin?
    You win cause I don't

This is the simplest question ever posed on this entire forum.

Just go look at the "Truck load rates halt 2 week slide" thread.

    Those are the elite.

The best trucker doesn’t have to blame their trainer or gps for their f up’s. They do their own research and self taught instinctive common sense learning. They take ownership and pride to better themselves.

And if that fails they don’t blame it on e-logs or poor trip planning.

Take these principles and apply them to trucking. The very best drivers are the ones that you don’t notice. Look in the RANT section. Many of you just notice the negative. You see a thousand trucks in a day, but the only one you noticed was the one that tailgated, elephant raced, and camped out on the fuel island.

Well, it stands to reason that the very best driver in your company saw the exact same thing as you, but somehow circumvented all of the obstacles that you see every single day to a point to where his annual pay, while being the exact same pay scale as yours, equals 1.5-2X the average pay at your company.

What Makes a Trucker, "The Best Trucker?"

i'd say, being clean, neat, wearing good clothing, not ripped, soiled, or grungy.

being on time for a pick up, or delivery

doing his/her best to adhere to all traffic

    regulations

being respectful to all others, no matter how he/she is treated.

proper loading, inspection, weighing, securing the customers products

making sure the equipment is up to standards for the road.

making sure all paper work is in order and any hazmat bills properly labeled

driving thru the truck stop parking lot at a SLOW speed with out the jake brake on

knowing how to actually read a truckers road atlas map

keep the lines of communication open with the company.

knowing when to call it a day in bad weather

but if there is one thing that makes a trucker the best trucker?

is that no one is the best, just better than someone else, as there will always be a BETTER trucker than you
