Why can't insurance companies provide fleet management solutions

    Came across this company called Zego insurance in Europe. They provide insurance using telematics data. Something like metromile. Why can't insurance companies provide a full fledged fleet management solution for free?

    My question is would a company that provides free fleet management software in return for buying their insurance make sense for owners of fleets? I'm not talking of just a gps tracker but a full fledged solution including dashcams, routing and dispatch, engine diagnostics and ELD.

    There is no such thing as a free lunch.

    Anything free will cost more somewhere else. For insurance it means most likely a higher premium, or even more fighting to get a payout.

    Why would I want MORE insurance involvement in my business? They don’t run my trucking company, I do. They are an insurance company not a trucking company.
