Your comment that country folk would like that tv show but city folks would not relate is nonsense. There are country folks who wouldn't spend their time on a show that's dumb and there's city kids who would sit hypnotized by loud fast cars for hours.
Maybe southern people liked it because even though it was stupid and formulaic at least it was southern so it gave them some pride. No big deal. But what's the point of desperately holding onto ancient mindless fluff? Move on.
2nd part was my attempt to point out that kids deserve intelligent and hopeful things to watch on tv and internet so the future keeps getting better. Grasping for old stuff that's fading away is wasting time. I don't believe there's no room for improvement.
Remember the tv show 7th heaven? You know the veggie tales cartoons? I'm absolutely not a Christian but those were good kid things worth showing my kids back when we had tv. But instead of pushing for more of that I'm hearing whining for dukes of hazard.
