i have a person who has a 2007 Peterbilt 387 with a c13 engine, she know noithing about the truck ,it was her x husbands , it sat for 6 years, i put new batteries in it and fired right up , everything works runs nice no smoke , no oil leaks, engine look very clean, has 960000 miles on it ,looks too clean to have so many miles on it. is there a way i can see if it was rebuilt? it needed 12 gallons of coolant before i started it, woulld the coolant evaporate that much coolant in 6 years, came from dealer to were it was parked and never moved since.

I doubt it. My guess is it leaked out or it was drained out at some point. It can permeate through silicone hoses but I'm not seeing the system becoming nearly completely empty due to that, maybe a gallon or 2 at most.

It may have a leak, or it could have been drained before it was parked in prepreation for some work. Coolant doesnt evaporate much/at all AFAIK in a closed system. Best best is to fire it up and go over anyplace that coolant passes through with a bottle of soapy water looking for leaks.

I drove it 25 miles and looked for leaks, nothing , oil looks good and clean

You said it was the ex husbands truck from 6 years ago. Maybe the ex sabotaged it becuase he didnt want the wife having it -
yes it was at operating temp ,i was following it and there was no white smoke, runs great
