I don't understand the issue. If you are still legally able to drive according to your HOS, just proceed as normal. Then, re-certify.

Most fuel stops still have paper log books that you can purchase. Go get one and complete your trip. When you get back to your yard they can fix the log for you.

first the walmart transportation office that handles outside dedicated drivers dont deal with your logs. second they dont hand out any paper logs to anyone. 3rd as a dedicated walmart driver. you just tell them your time you have on your hos. so you must be a company driver like swift, us express etc. yall must have a account with a gro dc. like yall run reefer trailers for them.

 

In this case I think (someone correct me if I’m wrong) using paper logs would still technically be illegal anyway as you can only use paper as a backup if your eld crashes. This wasn’t an issue with the eld but simply driver error. But honestly if it were me, I’d probably just roll with it and let the safety dept. figure it out. It will give them something to do lol.

For future reference, we are required to carry a paper logbook as a backup. Not sure what the punishment is if you get caught without one, probably some stupid fine or 10 years hard labor... who knows. But as stated above, generic paper logbooks are available at every truckstop. You will just have to manually write in your company’s info, address, etc.

How does the OP not have the DOT required by law paper logs on board?
I have been through road side inspections before and have been ask to show them to the officer?

 

You can't even drive anyplace on paper logs or not without paper ones in the truck so you have been illegal all along, don't see the big deal.
