I always tend to error on side of caution when going down grades and use breaks as little as I need. I may go slower but I still get there. The width and height will be a change. I do sometimes pull our pug mills. A portable machine to make cold blacktop if you are not familiar. They are long and wide also top Heavy. We are close to 100 ft with the pug and 12ft wide. So I have some recent experience with that.

What are your heaviest machines?

I’m thinking our road grinders, we have some big excavators also. We also have three of the worlds largest pavers. They are huge but don’t think they weigh what the grinders and excavators do. That’s a guess I don’t know weights on everything. I’m sure I’ll learn quick if I start hauling them. I know they said the most experienced guys get the real heavy stuff. That’s probably the right approach. There is always that time they are busy and will send you to get the real big stuff.

From your answers it seems you should fit perfectly there .

I’m a super trucker can do anything. no not really, I guess the size and weight are what have me questioning. I think it’s one of those things I have to give it a try and see. They always need tanker drivers so I could always try to switch back if I really don’t like it. Sometimes they won’t let you if they have a bigger need with what you are doing. With anything there is a learning curve. As long as I’m willing to listen to the guys that have been doing it for a long time I should be ok.
