    Yes you can!
Law and Cabotage rules remain largely unchanged - Truck News

That's because you can only do a "same way switch".
That means, BOTH loads either enter the US or are leaving.

You are NOT allowed to reposition empty trailers. Federal motor carrier doesn't really care, the "truck" can do whatever.. the DRIVER cant. Call Immigration, they will tell you.

Different for the truck. Different for the company. Immigration says the driver is canadian. Period.

Trade has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. IMMIGRATION DOES. Call them. My company has US locations, etc etc. What the truck can do and the driver can do , is 2 different things.

You can bring in and deliver a load, take the empty trailer you brought in and drop it at another customer or dock.
Then go to your terminal or other customer and grab a loaded trailer and leave the country with the second trailer.
You cannot drop your inbound trailer, go get another empty trailer, drop it at a shipper, then leave with a third trailer.

This is correct, you are allowed a “reposition” of the original trailer, when empty, for reloading.

I’m just glad this “Canadian BOL” thing has gone away, man that was annoying lol.

    How about this scenario?
You can bring in and deliver a load, take the empty trailer you brought in and drop it at another customer or dock.
Bobtail to a different customer , get an empty, take it to another customer for live load then head back to Canada?
